To describe:
The means by which, baseball players and coaches could use rationality in making better decisions.
Introduction:
Out of the many approaches managers use to make decisions, rationality is predominant. Rationality is the use of choices that follow a logical and consistent line of thinking in maximizing value. Managers often use this approach in enhancing the level of accuracy in the decisions taken, for the betterment of the organization. Similarly, such decisions are of great importance in sports such as baseball, in making one’s team in winning the game.
(b)
To describe:
The means by which, baseball players and coaches could use bounded rationality in making better decisions.
Introduction:
Managers are the ones often responsible for making decisions on behalf of their organizations. When they make such decisions, the accuracy of them must be a key concern. In making accurate and appropriate decisions, information is needed to be used as a basis for decision making. However, it is very seldom that a manager has all the necessary information at hand to make optimum decisions. When during a baseball game, players are left to take decisions with limited information. Also, the swiftness of the game makes their ability to process necessary information limited.
(c)
To describe:
The means by which, baseball players and coaches could use intuition in making better decisions.
Introduction:
Decision making cannot be done only with relevant information and other resources in hand. Experience, gathered judgments as well as feelings too play a vital role in sound decision making. Managers that have been in the business for longer, tend to make better decisions. It is a result of their experience. Further, by gathering information over time creates certain judgments or standpoints, upon which decisions taken at a later time would rest. For coaches and players of baseball, such experience and accumulated judgment is extremely important to better understand the opponent.
(d)
To describe:
The means by which, baseball players and coaches could use evidence-based management in making better decisions.
Introduction:
When making decisions, the availability of evidence, makes the credibility of such decisions higher. Managers often tend to look out for concrete evidence in making important corporate decisions. This is also valid in the field of baseball. Coaches and players often tend to make swift decisions that are based on facts clearly visible.
