Concept explainers
To describe: three ways that the velocity of a person could change as that person jog along a park’s path.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
Velocity can be defined as the rate of change of position with respect to time. It might have two types such as variable velocity and constant velocity. In variable velocity, either both direction and magnitude would change or any one of the magnitude or direction.
The three ways in which a jogger could change his velocity are:
1) Increase the distance covered in time. He should take faster steps to cover the path in a shorter time.
2) Decrease the distance covered at a particular time. He should take smaller steps to the relaxed mode for a longer time.
3) He should come to halt to bring velocity zero.
Conclusion:
Hence, all three steps are mentioned above.
