Summary Introduction
Introduction:
The heart, blood vessels and blood altogether form the circulatory system. The blood is the liquid medium to transport various substances throughout the body. The blood cells consist of red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. Red blood cells are the most abundant cells in blood. They contain an iron-binding protein known as hemoglobin. Hemoglobin helps in the transport of oxygen. A decrease in the total amount of red blood cells or hemoglobin can cause anemia.
