Introduction:

Ribosomes are the small molecular machines, which help the cell in making proteins by using amino acids in the process known as translation. The ribosome is composed of two subunits 40S(where S is Svedberg unit) and 60S (in eukaryotes), while 30S and 50S (in prokaryotes). The Svedberg unit describes the sedimentation coefficient of a particle.
