Interpretation:

A $\text{75}\text{kg}$ human is given to be exposed to $\text{32}\text{.8}\text{rad}$ of radiation. The amount of energy absorbed by person’s body is to be calculated. The comparison of this energy to the amount of energy absorbed by a person’s body if he or she jumps from a chair to a floor is to be done.

Concept introduction:Radiation exposure can be measured by different ways. One such method includes the measurement of energy actually absorbed by body tissue. The unit used for such type of exposure measurement isgray (Gy). It corresponds to one joule of energy absorbed per kilogram of body tissue.

To determine:The amount of energy absorbed by person’s body and comparison of this energy to the amount of energy absorbed by a person’s body if he or she jumps from a chair to a floor.
