Blood consists of various cells and plasma. Blood is responsible for the transport of various substances along the body. It also facilitates the exchange of gases. Major kinds of blood cells are red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. Red blood cells help in exchange of gases, whereas white blood cells work as defense system of the body.
