Introduction:

Baroreceptors are receptors present in the blood vessels that sense the pressure exerted on the walls of the vessels. It initiates a reflex arc for the maintenance of blood pressure to normal levels. It is a negative feedback loop that occurs upon an increase in blood pressure, causing blood pressure to decline.
