Introduction:
RBCs have a plasma membrane envelope like other cells, but they lack a nucleus, mitochondria, and other organelles, and contain a solution of hemoglobin as the main cytosolic component. Due to their anucleate nature, they are unable to synthesize their own DNA to renew proteins required for survival, and consequently, they are degraded in around 120 days.
