Introduction:

Autonomic nervous system (ANS) is a part of nervous system, which controls body functions that are not directed consciously, like breathing, digestive processes, and heartbeat. It is further divided into parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous system. Sympathetic nervous system regulates flight-or-fight responses, whereas parasympathetic nervous system regulates normal body functions, such as heart rate and constriction of eye pupils.
