Importance of systematic method for balancing
Concept Introduction:
In order to balance oxidation reduction reactions occur in aqueous solutions, we use half reaction method. In this method, the main reaction is separated into two half reactions which represents the oxidation process and the reduction process. Half reactions are chemical equations that have electrons as reactant or product. The main principle that should be followed to balance oxidation reduction reaction is to balance the number of electrons lost from the reducing agent and number of electrons gained by the oxidizing agent.
