Introduction:

Vitamins are organic compounds that are needed by an individual in their diet for their normal functioning and metabolism of the body. These compounds cannot be synthesized in humans, so they have to be taken either from plants or from animals. If they are not present in the body, then their absence causes deficiency disease. In the human body, they either function as co-factors or as co-enzymes.
