Summary Introduction

To review:

Whether one should get tested for BRCA1 and BRCA2 as a blood test is available easily.

Introduction:

Breast cancer refers to the disease of cancer, which primarily affects the breasts of the individual, mostly females. This cancer can be genetic and BRCA genes are breast cancer genes. They are called so because mutations in these genes can cause breast cancers in both females and males. They can be passed down to the child from either parent.

Expert Solution & Answer

Explanation of Solution

There are genetic tests available to find out if the BRCA gene in an individual is mutated or not, but genetic testing is recommended to those people with high risks of developing breast cancer. For example, if a person has a family history of breast cancer, ovarian cancer or a family member with a mutated BRCA gene.

Due to the cost and time consumption, this test is not recommended to every individual who is experiencing breast cancer. This test is not recommended otherwise because there are only slight chances that a family member is a carrier of this gene mutation. Moreover, emotionally such tests impact severely and may hamper the psychosocial life of the individual and their family members.

Conclusion

Thus, it can be concluded that genetic tests are expensive and impact the person emotionally. They are only recommended to people who have a family history of breast cancer.

Awnser these Discussion Questions Answer these discussion questions and submit them as part of your lab report. Part A: The Effect of Temperature on Enzyme Activity Graph the volume of oxygen produced against the temperature of the solution. How is the oxygen production in 30 seconds related to the rate of the reaction? At what temperature is the rate of reaction the highest? Lowest? Explain. Why might the enzyme activity decrease at very high temperatures? Why might a high fever be dangerous to humans? What is the optimal temperature for enzymes in the human body? Part B: The Effect of pH on Enzyme Activity Graph the volume of oxygen produced against the pH of the solution. At what pH is the rate of reaction the highest? Lowest? Explain. Why does changing the pH affect the enzyme activity? Research the enzyme catalase. What is its function in the human body? What is the optimal pH for the following enzymes found in the human body? Explain. (catalase, lipase (in your stomach),…
