  $\text{HA + BOH}\text{}\underset{}{\to }{\text{ BA + H}}_{\text{2}}\text{O}$

Here BA stands for salt and the reaction named as neutralization reaction. Thus the reaction of an acid with a base results in the formation of salt and water. The salt is an ionic compound that is formed by the combination of the cation ( ${\text{B}}^{\text{+}}$ ) from base and anion ( ${\text{A}}^{\text{-}}$ ) from acid and forms salt BA.
