Chapter 17, Problem 58TQ
Summary Introduction

To review:

The impact of the presence of single-strand on the structure of ribonucleic acid (RNA), in contrast to DNA double helix.

Introduction:

RNA is a nucleic acidthatmainly acts as the carrier of information from deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) to the proteins. It is formed from DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) by the process of transcription. Certain RNA molecules (such as micro RNA and small interfering RNA) can perform functions apart from translation. The structure of RNA is different from DNA in terms of thenumber of strands (one in RNA), type of sugar (ribose in RNA) as well as the presence of nitrogenous base, uracil.

Biochemistry What is the process of "transamination" in either the muscles or the liver, that involves keto acid or glutamic acid? Please explain how the steps work. Thank you!
Biochemistry Please help. Thank you What is the importance of glutamic acid in the metabolism of nitrogen from amino acids? (we know therole; it’s used to remove the nitrogen from amino acids so that the remaining carbon skeleton can bebroken down by the “usual” pathways, but what is the important, unique role that only glutamicacid/glutamate can do?)
