Introduction:

A compelling subplot in the long tale of the history of life is the story of the invasion of life on land. In moving to solid ground after billion years of strict water existence, organisms had many obstacles to overcome. Despite the obstacles to life on land, many species represented a tremendous evolutionary opportunity, especially plants. After land plants evolved, providing the potential source of food for other animals, animals emerged from the water (sea, ocean and so on).
