Concept explainers
Interpretation:
Neither stirring nor grinding a solute affect the amount of solute that ultimately dissolves in a given amount of solvent, the reason behind this is to be explained.
Concept Introduction :
Stirring does not affect the quantity of dissolving solute but it affects how quickly the solute dissolves into the given solvent.
Answer to Problem 45A
Stirring affects the rate of dissolving the solute in a given solvent not their quantity. Dissociation of solute affected by the temperature, pressure, etc.
Explanation of Solution
Stirring affects the rate of dissolving the solute in a given solvent not their quantity. The dissolution of solute in a solvent is affected by the temperature. At the higher temperature, more solute will be dissolved into the solvent and pressure also affects the rate of dissolving.
By stirring the solute or solvent, the rate of dissolving processes becomes faster but there are no effects on the dissolving quantity of the solute.
