To describe: The causes and possible characteristics of colorectal cancer.
Concept introduction: Colorectal carcinoma is a cancer formed in the colon and rectum (final parts of the large intestine). The abnormal growth called polyp starts developing on the inner lining of the colon or rectum. There are two types of genes in our body. They are proto-oncogenes (which can transform into an oncogene) and the tumor suppressor genes (suppresses the tumor formation).
