Chapter 17, Problem 1TMW
Summary Introduction

To tell:

Why should parents have their children vaccinated, given that there are so few cases?

Introduction:

A person is made resistant or immune to a contagious disease by a method referred to as immunization. Immunization is done by vaccine administration. Vaccines induce the immune system to defend an individual against consequent disease or an infection. Vaccination significantly decreases the number of cases of many infections or diseases, for example whooping cough, measles, small pox, and so on.

Explanation of Solution

Vaccines are medical products that save human lives from mild infections to deadly infections. Vaccines eradicated several infections, for example whooping cough, small pox, and so on. Though vaccines eradicate nearly many infections, parents continue vaccinating their children. This is because to prevent the reintroduction and spreading of the pathogen, thus avoiding the change of this scenario from few cases to wide spread infection.

Conclusion

The reason why should parents have their children vaccinated is explained.
