Introduction:

The carbon dioxide in the blood is transported in 3 forms, as carbonate ion, in bound form with protein (hemoglobin) and in dissolved form in the blood. The carbon dioxide is majorly transported in the form of bicarbonate ions. The systemic arteries are the blood vessels which transport the oxygen rich blood to the body. The systemic veins are the blood vessels, which bring the oxygen deficient blood to the heart.
