Summary Introduction

To explain: The bleaching reaction and the way in which it relates to dark adaptation and light adaptation.

Concept introduction: The sense of vision within the eyes uses photoreceptors to detect light, color, and movement to observe the visual images of the environments. The physiology of vision expressed as the light enters to the eye and it is transformed into electrical signals. Then, the electrical signals are transmitted to the brain for interpretation and integration. The physiology of vision primarily started with the refraction of light. This process continues with focusing of light on the retina, phototransduction, and the relaying of sensory input along visual pathways.
