The punctuated equilibrium model of evolution.
Introduction:
Darwin gave the theory of gradualism evolution. This theory suggested that the evolutionary changes occur slowly over a long duration of time. He explained about the pace of evolution, but this model was replaced by the punctuated model of equilibrium. This was given by Stephan Jay Gould and Niles Eldredge. They explained the pace of evolution by giving this new model.
