Introduction:
The eye has three layers namely- the sclera, the choroid, and the retina. The retinal layer of the eye includes the photoreceptor rod and cone cells. The rod cells provide vision in the dark region whereas, the cone cells provide vision in the bright region. The macula lutea is a pigmented area located near the retina and it is divided into various regions such as the fovea region that provides the greatest visual acuity.
