Introduction:
The middle ear cavity is represented by a small air filled-region present inside the petrous part of the temporal bone. An inner lining of the mucous membrane is also found in this cavity. The lateral boundary of the middle ear cavity is formed by the tympanic membrane. The medial boundary is formed by a bone, which segregates this cavity from the internal ear.
