Interpretation:
The oxidation and reduction is to be defined with respect to the oxygen, electrons, and oxidation state.
Concept introduction:
The redox reaction involves oxidation and reduction processes simultaneously.
During the redox reaction, one element undergoes oxidation reaction and the other undergoes reduction reaction. The oxidizing agent will become reduced and the reducing agent will become oxidized.
The redox reaction is similar to the acid–base reaction.
