The reason for the export of lactic acid from muscles during intense exercise should be determined.

Lactic acid is formed from pyruvate during lactic acid fermentation. During this process, pyruvate is reduced by the action of NADH. This NADH is formed from the glycolysis and used up in the lactic acid fermentation. This process takes place in the bacteria and under anaerobic condition.
