A patient, age 10 years reported with epistaxis and petechial rash, investigations revealed low platelet counts than reference range and was administered IVIG.

Michelle Gilmartin, the patient under evaluation.

Adequate information:

The patient has a history of epistaxis and petechial rashes which upon investigations showed low platelet counts and diagnosed of immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP). Treated initially with prednisone now administered IVIG.

To Determine:

The functions of IVIG and identify the exception from the given choices.
