The contribution of translocation (such as Philadelphia chromosome) in cancer.

Introduction:

When rearrangement of genes between non-homologous chromosomes takes place, it results in chromosomal abnormality called chromosome translocation. Translocation is categorized into two-balanced and unbalance, the former is said to occur when no loss of genetic material takes place and functionality of the chromosome is maintained, whereas the later is said to occur when gene splitting and transfer results into abnormal functioning.
