Introduction:

Gustation or taste refers to a type of chemical sensitivity produced towards the food particles. The perception of taste occurs because of a chemical reaction that tends to occur between the food particle and the taste receptors (gustatory receptors). The taste receptors are found in the taste buds, which are located in the tongue, mucosa of mouth as well as the pharynx.
