Chapter 15.6, Problem 2LO
Summary Introduction

To identify: The tRNA binding sites in the ribosomes.

Introduction: The flow of information from DNA to RNA is referred to as transcription, while the flow of information from RNA to protein is referred to as translation. Gene expression needs the involvement of several types of RNA and each plays a different function in the overall process. The tRNA structure is highly conserved in the systems of all organisms. The cloverleaf type structure is produced depending on the intramolecular base-pairs that form the double-stranded regions. The primary structure of tRNA is then folded to form the L-shaped molecule with two functional ends, namely, the anticodon loop and the acceptor stem (3' end of the molecule).
