Introduction: Matter can be broken down into two categories i.e. pure substances and mixture.
Pure substances have a definite and uniform composition. It can be either an element or a compound. Example of pure substance are water, gold, sugar, etc.
Mixtures are combinations of pure substances which are physically put together that have no definite or uniform composition. Example of mixtures are salt in water, sugar and salt etc.The different parts of a mixture can be separated by filtration.
