The space shuttle protection system also termed as TPS is noteworthy enough that defends the space shuttle orbiter during its travel through the atmospheric zone at a temperature of 1650 degrees. The further aim is to defend the shuttle from the heat and cold of space in the interior of the orbit. The space shuttle would undergo aerodynamic heating through re-entry that would increase the temperature at the ultimate level thus, protection is important.
