Para di-substituted benzene gives a strong peak between 800 and 860 cm-1.

Aromatic rings show absorption at 3030 cm-1 due to CH stretching and between 1600-1400 cm-1 due to C=C stretching vibrations.

Alkyl groups show absorption between 2950 and 2850 cm-1 due to CH stretching.
