Neuroglia, also termed as glial cells, are found in the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system. These cells are non-neuronal in nature. The function of glial cells is to protect the neurons and enhance their functioning. These cells also bind the neurons together. In the womb, glial cells help the migrating of young neurons to their destination in the fetus.
