Concept introduction:

The brain responds to the stimuli with greater versatility than the spinal cord, because of the presence of a complex network of the specialized neurons called as the Purkinje fibers and cranial nerves in the brain. They conduct the impulse waves across the neurons by generating the action potential, waves of the polarization and the depolarization.
