Vitamins are the organic substances that are required for proper growth and development of the body. It is of two types fat-soluble vitamins and water-soluble vitamins. Fat-soluble vitamins such as vitamin A, D, E and K are soluble in lipids and are stored in the body tissues. Water-soluble vitamins such as B and C are soluble in water and are not stored in the body tissues.
