Interpretation:

Using the internet as a resource and following IR spectrum functional groups should be interpreted.

Concept Introduction:

IR spectroscopy: IR spectrum provides the information regarding the functional groups a compound possesses.  When a molecule is bombarded with radiation of a frequency that exactly matches the frequency of the vibration of one of its bonds, the molecules absorbs energy.

  • • In the IR spectrum, the signal just above 3000cm1 confirms the presence of  aromatic ring
  • Aromatic compound also produces a series of signals between 1450cm1 and 1650cm-1 in the IR spectrum
