Chapter 13.4, Problem 10LO
Summary Introduction

To describe: The processes of initiation, elongation, and termination in polypeptide synthesis.

Introduction: Transcription is the process in which the nucleotide sequences of a gene are transcribed into messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) sequences which code for proteins. Proteins are synthesized from mRNA by a process known as translation. The rate of translation depends on the simultaneous translation of mRNA by various ribosomes and quick recycling of subunits of ribosome. The processes of translation proceed in three stages: initiation, elongation, and termination.
