Cyber-squatting:

• It is the process of registering, vending or using someone’s domain name with the intent of gaining profit from the favor of someone’s brand.
• The cyber-squatter then offers the domain name to the person or an organization who owns the brand for too much price.
• It is also called as domain-squatting and it is an illegal practice.

Example:

“google.com”: This domain name was first owned by the former Google employee Sanmay Ved for 12 dollars. Later Google paid him 6006.13 dollars to get that domain name.
