Chapter 13, Problem 2RQ
Summary Introduction
Introduction:
The electrical activities of the heart are monitored by electrocardiogram that uses a system of leads, which are positive or negative electrodes. The leads are of two types, depending upon their activity, unipolar and bipolar. The unipolar leads monitor the activities of the heart between the positive electrode and the zero-electrical reference point at the center of the heart. The bipolar leads consist of two electrodes, one is positive and the other is negative. The standard unipolar leads are aVL, aVR, aVF, V1, V2, V3, V4, V5 and V6 while the bipolar leads are lead I, lead II and lead III.
