To explain: How the loss of AP3 causes a defect in melanosomes.
Concept introduction: Melanosomes are specialized lysosome which store the pigment. They have specialized machinery to deliver the pigment outside of cell into the extracellular space of epidermis, by the process known as exocytosis. The pigment is taken up by the hair and keratinocytes that causes its pigmentation.
