Summary Introduction

To describe: The functions of the structure which carry out an action potential via the conducting heart’s network, beginning with the SA node.

Introduction: The atrioventricular node in short the AV node receives the action potential that is carried out by the internodal tracts. The pacemaker cells are present in the AV node form action potential at a slow pace as compared with the SA node. The heart rate is not usually affected by the AV node. The heart muscles are formed of specialized cells termed as cardiac myocytes or cardiac muscle cells.
