Summary Introduction
A state in which fertilized egg is carried by a woman within her body is called pregnancy. After the fertilization of an egg by a sperm, it is then implanted in the lining of the uterus. It grows into embryo and placenta. Then, it matures into a fetus. Generally, the pregnancy lasts for 40 weeks, starts from the initial day of a woman last menstrual period (LMP). It is divided into three trimesters, all is lasting for three months.
