Concept introduction: As per the Boyle’s law, the pressure and volume are inversely related, which means that as the pressure of the gas reduces, its volume increases and vice versa. Since, the product of pressure and volume of the gas always remains constant at a particular temperature and amount of gas. The equation gives the relation between pressure and volume is,

Given: At a 0.80 atm pressure, sample of methane (CH4) has a volume of 25 mL. Calculate the volume change (in millilitres) of methane gas on different pressures at constant amount and temperature of gas.
