Concept explainers
Happiness and Age Category StatCrunch surveyed users on happiness. Each respondent scored herself or himself between 1 (least happy) and 100 (most happy). We would like to determine whether age category has an effect on happiness for users of StatCrunch. Assume the data are from a random sample of StatCrunch users. Here 1 denotes people between 10 and 19 years old, 2 denotes people between 20 and 29, and so on.
a. Based on the given sample means, which group reported themselves as happiest, and which group reported the least happiness?
b. Test the hypothesis that age category is associated with happiness for users of StatCrunch. Use a significance level of 0.05. Assume Normality. Do not do post hoc tests.
