Interpretation Introduction

Interpretation:

The integrated absorption coefficient of transition for an inverted parabolic lineshape has to be stated.

Concept introduction:

Absorption bands spread over a range of wavenumbers.  Therefore, integrated absorption coefficient is calculated by integrating the area under the curve for molar absorption coefficient versus wavenumber.  The integrated absorption coefficient is given by the expression shown below.
