Summary Introduction

To find: How a plant uses the sugar which they produce during photosynthesis to power their cells and some examples of cellular work.

Introduction: In photosynthesis, the chloroplast present in the leaves of the plant absorbed sunlight which is utilized to convert CO2 from air and water from roots into glucose and O2. Further glucose is utilized to make other substances like cellulose and starch and most importantly it is utilized in cellular respiration to make energy.

In cellular respiration, the mitochondria of both plants and animal cells break down simple sugar like glucose into CO2 and water and also release energy in the form of ATP. ATP is also known “energy currency” of the cell.
