The conditions whether (a) autosomal dominant or (b) autosomal recessive, are associated with “methemoglobinemia”.

Introduction:

Hemoglobin is responsible for the distribution of oxygen to the all parts of the body but when an individual is affected with disease methemoglobinemia the hemoglobin is converted into methemoglobin and it is not able to release oxygen in body tissues.

Autosomal dominant inheritance involves one copy of an allele that is capable for the expression of the trait and the gene is located on autosome, whereas, autosomal recessive traits usually occurred to skip generations and more likely to appear among offsprings of related individuals.
