E. coliis a rod shaped Gram-negative bacterium. It is facultative anaerobic and commonly reside inside the lower intestine of homeothermic animals. It is capable of responding to the chemical gradient through the means of specialized proteins. The bacterium moves toward or away from the stimuli using flagella.
