To explain: The extraordinary mutation resistance of the genetic code argues in favor of its origin as a frozen accident or as a result of natural selection.
Introduction:
DNA is the hereditary unit of most of the organisms. It is transcribed into mRNA by a process of transcription. mRNA is translated into proteins by the ribosomes by a process of translation. The mRNA carries the genetic code in the form of triplet of a four-letter alphabet and is more effectively resistant to mutation. Even the alteration in third position of codon identifies the same amino acids with similar chemical characteristics.
