When the mass production using fossil fuels begins in England at the end of the 1700s, what led to fossil fuel industrialization and why did this particular way of organizing society emerge in this place, rather than somewhere else, or some other time? Why did it happen at all?
The British had established colonies in many parts of the world by the 1700s. It provided them with an almost unending supply of raw materials at a very cheap rate, which was used to make finished goods, that were exported at higher prices. This cyclical strategy needed a strong and continuous production process, that was possible only at an industrial level. Thus, machines powered by chemical fuels came to be used, starting a big industrial boom, known as the Industrial Revolution.
